Ruilverkaveling De Scheeken maakt deel uit van het Nationale Landschap het Groene Woud. Het gebied was voor de ruilverkaveling sterk versnipperd en kende een gebrekkige ontwatering. Ruilverkaveling uitgevoerd in de jaren veertig van de vorige eeuw, wederopbouwperiode. Het onderliggende landschapsplan hield rekening met streekeigen karakter van het cultuurlandschap.
Motorway A2 and wildlife bridge throught the National Landscape Groene Woud (Green Forest). The area was fragmented before land consolidation and had a poor drainage. Land consolidation took place in the forties of the last century, reconstruction period. The landscape plan took into account the typical local character of the landscape.
